A note from Kelley Maddox about our January Big Give:
First, let me thank you all for the huge response we had to the Souperbowl of Caring. We collected 2058 cans of soup, almost 25% more than last year, plus 221 boxes of crackers which we added to the Big Give this year. Wow! I love our church!! The head of Cobb school social workers was blown away!! The cans were delivered yesterday morning to a local food pantry in Marietta near Cobb DFACS. This is a food pantry Cobb school social workers pull from when they need help for their families in their area. The also have space to store the cans since their pantry was so low on food-in fact, they were thinking they would have to close the food pantry for lack of food. Buying a can of soup for someone may be a little thing, but when we all do it together it is a great BIG GIVE OF HOPE to our school social workers that are always looking for resources for families in need, for the people that run the food pantry that were discouraged because they were running out of food, and for the families that, at least for one night, do not have to worry about what they are going to eat for dinner. I pray that God blesses you all for being a blessing to others!!
Next Big Give is coming up soon on Sunday, February 12: Cookies & Juice for the Special Needs Dance! Find out how you can be a part of giving big at www.northstarchurch.org/biggive.
