Hi NorthStar! Our church turned 15 this month, and this weekend we celebrate! We hope you’ll be a part of our anniversary celebration this Sunday evening in a special location. And remember: No services on our campus Sunday morning. Here’s your to know list for this weekend:
- NORTHSTAR’S 15TH ANNIVERSARY SERVICE: It’s time to celebrate our 15th year as a church, and we wanted to do it all together: one time, one venue, one body, ONE HOPE! Join us for NorthStar’s 15th Anniversary Service, to be held this Sunday evening, January 29, at 6:00 p.m. at West Ridge Church in Dallas. Programming will be offered onsite for babies thru preschool; children kindergarten-age and up will sit with their parents in the service. Please note that there will be no morning services or other meetings January 29. West Ridge Church is located at 3522 Hiram Acworth Highway, Dallas, GA 30157. More at www.northstarchurch.org/15.
- DISASTER RELIEF FOR ALABAMA: We’re joining forces with West Ridge Church, Samaritan’s Purse, Carl Black Auto Team, and other organizations to assist the areas of Trussville and Center Point, Alabama. These areas were hit hard by severe storms Monday. You can help by donating food or volunteering to help. Go here on our ITK blog to find out more.

- GROUPS REGISTRATION CONTINUES: We believe that one of the best ways to meet new NorthStar folks, develop lasting friendships, and learn God’s Word is through a NorthStar Group. Registration continues for our winter/spring semester of Groups at www.northstarchurch.org/groups. There you can search for Groups in your area, or on the day of the week that suits you, or using other search criteria.
- MARRIAGE WEEKEND 2012 DEADLINE EXTENDED: Our annual Marriage Weekend will take place February 24-26 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville (SC). Cost is $295.00 per couple. The registration deadline has been extended, but hurry—only a handful of rooms remain available. Registration and full payment is due by February 5. Makes a great Valentine’s gift! Our special guests again this year are Ted and Nancie Lowe of MarriedPeople. This will be an incredible weekend of fun, music, laughter, and time for just the two of you. - DIVORCE CARE: Healing from your divorce is not easy. It's a long, sometimes painful process. Divorce Care will give you the opportunity to gather with people in your situation. This 13-week study is complete with video interviews touching on the different stages of divorce. It also stimulates conversation and discussion so you can better examine how to make these topics fit into your life. The class is facilitated by leaders who have been in your situation and have traveled the same path as you. Sundays beginning February 5, 9:30 a.m., Compass Conference Room. - FEBRUARY BIG GIVE: COOKIES & JUICE BOXES FOR SPECIAL NEEDS DANCE: Once again we are supplying cookies and juice boxes for 400-500 special needs kids from all over Cobb County at the Kennesaw Mountain High special needs dance. Bring in cookies of any kind, store-bought or homemade (no peanut products please), and juice boxes. You can bring them all in on Sunday morning, February 12. - STARTING POINT: NorthStar will be offering a Group this semester called Starting Point on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. If you are new in your faith, are searching for truth, or have recently returned to church, this group is perfect for you! It starts on February 12 in the True North Conference Room. Please register at www.northstarchurch.org/groups.
- THE TREASURE PRINCIPLE: Beginning Monday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the True North Auditorium. In Randy Alcorn's The Treasure Principle, you'll unearth a radical teaching of Jesus--a secret wrapped up in giving. Once you discover this secret, life will never look the same.
